What is your Open CASCADE-based project about ?

People on the Open CASCADE forum are focused on technical stuff asking for help in particular algorithms usage. I'm often curious what their problem domains are. I have witnessed OpenCASCADE being used in so different areas (medicine, ship building, CAM/CNC, geology and what not) and every time these looked impressive. So, where do *you* apply Open CASCADE ?

If you want to promote your project here, insert a link, an image etc just go ahead and advertise ;-). Be proud to present your work to other readers!

Eager to see your comments ...

  2. Hi Roman,

We are pretty at the begging, but we have most of needed know-how to make it happening.

    NaroCAD:

    and on blogspot:

And opensource CAD system that wants to overhaul the existing free CAD systems and to offer good integration with 3rd party tools for CAM/CAE. It is written in C# with SCSF on top of OpenCascade.

  4. mailmagic: welcome! do you have a link to your project site ?

By the way, folks, you may use html tags to insert your images right here:
\< img src = \"http://www.yoursite.com/img/yourimage.gif \" / \>. Just remove backslahes and extra white spaces.

  5. I am using Open CASCADE to create a simplified tool to draw buildings, then do calculations on them using the existing software developed in the company.

The tool is still in development, as well as the new version of the software.

  6. Hello Roman,

we are using OpenCASCADE technology to make CAD drawings available for Monte Carlo Particle Transport Calculations (MCNP, TRIPOLI). In MC codes the problem space usually is represented by Boolean forms of primitive solids and/or algebraic half spaces. Our program converts the available CAD data (B-Rep) and completes the model with void space, which has to be described explicitly for MC codes.
The program is conceived as open source project but is still in the closed beta phase.

  7. We're trying to build a simulation/visualization platform for Ultrasound scanning of industrial objects. Open CASCADE will be used to create/import models for simulation.

  11. Hello,

we used SALOME based on OPEN CASCADE, to design our product : http://alt.meta-it.fr
SALOME was the only free software to allow us to achieve industrial design on Linux

  13. Hi All,
I am trying to build a software which will provide you the Design and modelling of Spur Gear using open sources. Its for the easy interface of the SME's and to reduce the cost of design. If any one interested in it Please feel free to discuss the issue..

    Thanks
